Orpen safari camp is the smallest concession rest camp found within the borders of the park. Located nearest to the Orpen Gate the camp has basic accommodation , housing about two to three travelers in small huts with communal bathroom facilities. Most visitors only stay there when it is too late in the day to get to other camps before night set's in.

This is a peaceful quite little wilderness camp restcamp at the western Orpen Gate, from where the rest remainder of the Park could easily effortlessly be reached. It is close close by to the Tamboti and Maroela caravan parks park on the banks of the Timbavati river.
Numerous number of game species may be sighted viewed at the waterhole just outside the camp restcamp.
The Rabelais Dam is 7 km seven kilometres from the restcamp camp, notorious famous for the large huge variety range of species that gather meet to drink, and excellent superb examples of the waterbuck could be studied here.
The camp restcamp facilities amenities include consist of a first-aid centre, petrol and diesel and a supermarket.
Accomodation
The Orpen family cottages (3three cottages) – 6 six persons people per cottage
2 x air-conditioned bedrooms, each every with three 3 single beds and bathroom en suite. One 1 bathroom with bath, toilet and basin and the other with shower, toilet and basin. The kitchen has a two-plate electric stove (without oven), refrigerator / freezer, sink, cooking utensils, crockery and cutlery.
The kitchen is on an open veranda porch. Barbecue braai facilities and open parking.
Other Accommodation
2 two-bed and 3three-bed huts have communal public ablution facilities, a wash basin and a veranda porch, fan.
Basic essential cooking utensils, crockery and cutlery, fridge.
A communal public freezer is available.

Just outside the fence of The Orpen Camp Restcamp a small water hole, provides excellent superb game viewing at just about any time of day for The Kruger Kruger National Park safaris. Impala and Baboon frequently often forage around the stony rockey area, but often in the evenings. Elephants often arrive to drink from the river.

If you must walk around at night evening do not don’t do so without a torch.
Game
The surrounding close area offers excellent brilliant opportunities for game viewing onKruger National ParkKruger National Park safaris. On the drive from The Orpen to Satara herds of Zebra and Wildebeest graze eat next to the road, while Giraffe, Impala, Warthog and Elephant are common.frequent Turning off from this road to the Timbavati river northwards through pleasant enjoyable scenery to TheOlifants camp campsite, Lion, Cheetah and Leopard are likely proberly to be seen.
TheOrpen Camp Restcamp also offers game drives, game walks, and night evening drives and from time to time. Wildlife videos movies are also shown. The plains around TheOrpen Camp Restcamp is open as a result outcome of bush clearingclearance for agricultural purposes before prior to the area location was incorporated into the Kruger NationalPark. The most picturesque scenic route in the area location is along the Timbavati River. The riverbed is an excellent superb place location to find Leopard. Game can also be viewed found at the Rabelais Dam.
Bird Life
Two2 birds to watch look out for on the The Olifants River are Whitefronted and Whitecrowned Plover, both of which can be seen found in the riverbed. The bridges on the main major tarred road and at Balule are the places to look for these species. Search the riparian trees on the Olifants River near Balule for the Pel's Fishing Owl.
Camp restcamp bird-life in The Olifants, like all camps campsites is busy. Red-winged Starlings are particularly mainly prominent. Trumpeter Hornbills and Pied Barbet are regularly often seen often in camp restcamp, and when the many aloe plants in camp restcamp are in flower, they act as a magnet for sunbirds. Rufous-bellied Heron has been recorded on the TheOlifants River.
