Find Mopani in Kruger Park

The newest and most comfortable rest camp in the KNP. Mopani has been built near a dam that attracts a lot of wildlife into the monotone northern mopane dominated shrupveld vegetation.

Wildlife spotting from the camp is superb and you would have to drive for hours to see more game from your car than in this camp.

Enjoy a splash in the swimming pool after a game drive you are prepared for dinner in the local restaurant which is supposed to be far better than in other camps and it offers dinner à la carte. Accommodation in this camp offers fully equipped kitchen and supports up to 6 persons in a house.

Mopani Restcamp camp lies lie on the banks of the Pioneer Dam - a best well kept secret; a unique restcamp campsite nestled amongst the koppies hills with Mopani trees and a huge huge gnarled old mature baobab tree in the heart of the camp campsite

Situated located 45 forty five km north of Letaba Restcamp campsite, on the eastern bank of the Pioneer Dam lies Mopani Restcamp camp. The nearest closest gate is the Phalaborwa Gate - 74 seventy four km away. Scenic drives along the Letaba river towards Letaba Camp restcamp and Engelhard Dam are pretty rewarding worthwhile.

Conference facilities exist for 30 thirty persons people in lecture configuration. Equipment: screen, flip chart, white board, Panasonic TV televersion and video recorder, overhead projector and slide projector (carousel).

Accommodation

Accommodation units have been built from natural materials such as rough jaggerd stone, wood and thatching grass and blend in beautifully wonderfully with the environment surroundings.

Bungalows:
• 43 x 4 four-bed units (2 two single beds and 2 two bunk beds in alcove), fully equipped with one 1 bathroom, veranda porch with kitchenette and outside braai barbeque

• 2 x 4 four-bed units, accessible to wheelchairs, (2 Two} single beds and 2 Two bunk beds in alcove), fully equipped with one 1 bathroom, veranda balcony with kitchenette and outside braai barbeque

Cottages:
• 12 x 4 four bed units (1 one room with 2 two single beds and 2 two sleeper couches in the lounge), fully equipped with two 2 bathrooms (one en-suite), veranda balcony with kitchenette and outside braai barbeque.

Guest Cottages:
45 x 6 six bed units (3 three bedrooms with 2 two single beds in each all), fully equipped with two 2 bathrooms (one en-suite) kitchen, lounge/dining area, large huge veranda porch and outside braai. Guest House:
This is a large luxury unit in prime position with a view of the dam. It is well-equipped with kitchen (with microwave oven), multiple bedrooms and bathrooms. Limited channel DSTV television is provided. Sleeping cottages are loose standing from the lounge/dining area. There are also braai barbeque facilities. Xanatseni: Sleeps 8 eight, with 4 four bedrooms, (1 one room with a double bed, with 2 two single beds each both in the other rooms). One 1 of the bedrooms is accessible available to people in wheelchairs.

Shipandani Overnight Hide

Shipandane Sleepover Hide, situated approximately about 3 three km south of Mopani on the Tsendze River, is a unique accommodation facility service where guests visitors can feel part of the nature. A bird hide by day PM, it transforms into a primitive overnight during the night dwelling by night, where a select choice few can experience the Kruger National Park Kruger National nightlife first hand. Night evening drives enable you to take part in the nightlife activities of Kruger's Kruger secretive creatures in the company of experienced guides and trackers.

Guided bush walks, in the company of trained field guides with backup rifles, take groups of up to 8 eight people out into the bush for a few hours. Track Rhino, Elephant and Lion on foot and learn and observe fascinating interesting facts about the African bush.

By relaxing at the look out point spot or on the terrace balcony of Mopani Camp's safari room you can enjoy game viewing without even having to leave the camp restcamp, during the course of your Kruger National Park Kruger vacation.

The safari room also as well boasts a ladies bar, television T.V and fireplace fire. Enjoy have a short walk to the Pioneer Dam. Mopani Camp restcamp boasts a swimming pool, for the use of resident visitors guests as well as a walking trail footpath.

Game Big Game: The dense thick Mopane veld around Mopani Camp campsite has an unfair false reputation name for being a poor bad game area region. In truth fact there is actually very little that cannot cant be seen in this habitat surroundings.

Storks, egrets, kingfishers and African Fish Eagles are ever present nearby while Redwinged Pratincole, African Spoonbill, Blackwinged Stilt and Whitewinged Tern are some of the more uncommon scarce species to watch for.

Mosque and Wiretailed Swallow breed in camp campsite (the former should be looked for at the camp's huge Big Baobab Tree). Mocking Chats should be looked for from the ladies bar on a Kruger National Park Kruger vacation. At the nearby near Nshawu Pans look for Kittlitz's Plover, Chestnutbacked Finchlark and Redwinged Pratincole.
