Mala Mala was the 1st privately owned game reserve in S.A with eco-tourism as a substitute to hunting. The Mala Mala Main Safari camp, found in amazing surroundings and along with shelterd trees and manicured lawns on the banks of the Sand River, is still 1 of South Africa's most well known and best loved safari destinations. The Mala Mala Mala Mala is a usual, secure campsite with accepted safari-style decoration with original bronzes, works of art and animal trophies mounted on the walls. The open buffalo sitting room leads onto an expansive sun deck, where you can use a relaxing afternoon viewing giraffe, elephant and buffalo come to the river banks to drink.

Dinner, where you can benefit from venison specialties and haute bush food, is served in the great old African safari manner in the restcamps reed enclosed boma. The accommodation at Mala Mala Main Safari Campsite is of the top standard - you don't have to 'battle it out' to enjoy a safari here. In keeping with the African theme, the spacious, thatched rondavels (round bungalows) are furnished in rattan, with African-style artwork and prints. Every bungalow is air-conditioned and has tall ceilings; massive, comfortable beds and 'his' and 'hers' bathrooms. Glass sliding doors opening onto a individual terrace overlooking the surrounding bush, so you can enjoy game viewing from the luxuary of your own room. The safari camp is one of the little safari destinations which is capable to offer a fully equipped disabled bedroom. There is 1 family rondavel.
