The Lion Sands River Lodge has an amazing position on the bank of the Sabie River, in the Southern region of the Sabi Sand Game Reserve, a place renowned for its grand game viewing. You do not even have to leave the lodge for splendid sightings; it's not uncommon to find an elephant or giraffe while relaxing in your lounge next to the pool. When staying at River Lodge, you have the opportunity to stay a evening at Lion Sands Tree House for an further cost. A ranger will drop you at the tree house and collect you in the morning. You can spend the evening deep in the Kruger wilderness, while still maintaining contact with the lodge using two way raidio

 The cuisine at Lion Sands River Lodge is tasty and ample. During your stay you will be offered special dishes such as 'Zebra & Black Cherry Potjie' or 'Crocodile Kebabs with a Lemon Butter & Apricot Sauce'. The lodge has both an indoor and open-air (Boma) dining place, or there is also the choice of bush breakfasts and dinners. Dining in the bush is an unforgettable experience. You are taken to either the river hide, or 1 of the open plains, where you can enjoy the amzing breakfast.

Accommodation

Lion Sands River Lodge has 18 luxurious thatched suites, everyone with a private viewing sun deck lookingover the Sabie River. The inside is cream, with a touch of African fabric and wooden carvings, and the large, snug beds come with mosquito netting, to gurentee a peaceful night's kip. The bathrooms have inside and outside showers.
